Stake describes Dice as a 100-sided virtual-die game in which the player chooses a target and bets that the result will fall above or below it. Lower win chances correspond to larger potential multipliers; higher win chances correspond to smaller ones. That tradeoff is the main idea to understand before opening the real-money game.
Is there an official Stake Dice demo?
Stake says some games in its wider catalogue offer demo play, but a general catalogue statement does not establish that the Stake Originals Dice product has a free mode for every visitor, account or jurisdiction. The current Dice product page reviewed for this article does not provide a specific, unconditional promise of a separate demo.
Check the current official game interface before relying on a “Play Free” claim. A genuine demo should clearly identify the game, use virtual credit and not require a deposit merely to inspect the controls. A third-party roll animation is not automatically Stake Dice and may use different rules, rounding or result generation.

The calculator on this page accepts a target win probability from 1% to 98%. It displays the fair break-even multiplier before a house edge or operator rounding.
The formula is:
fair multiplier = 1 / win probability
Enter probability as a decimal. A 25% target is 0.25, so the fair multiplier is 1 / 0.25 = 4.00x. A 50% target is 1 / 0.50 = 2.00x.

The last column is a probability restatement, not a forecast that a particular set of 100 rolls will contain that exact number of wins. Short sequences vary. It is also not Stake's payout table: a real casino game with a house edge must offer less than the fair break-even relationship or otherwise retain an advantage over repeated play.
What the Stake Dice controls mean
The dedicated Stake Dice guide covers the full interface. For this learning page, four controls matter most:
- Roll Under or Roll Over: defines which side of the target is a win.
- Target number: sets the cutoff for the selected condition.
- Win chance: shows the portion of the outcome range that satisfies the condition.
- Multiplier: shows the potential return relative to the stake when the condition succeeds.
Changing one of these values affects the others. A higher potential multiplier requires a smaller winning region. Moving the target does not make the random result respond to the player's preferred risk level.
How Stake turns a random value into a Dice result
Stake's provably fair game-event documentation says Dice covers displayed outcomes from 00.00 to 100.00 with 10,001 possible values. It describes the event conversion as:
roll = (float × 10001) / 100
The random float is produced before this conversion. The formula explains how that value becomes a displayed Dice number; it does not reveal the next float and cannot be used as a predictor.

What 99% RTP and a 1% house edge mean
Stake's current Dice product page displays a 1% edge, corresponding to a 99% theoretical return to player. RTP is a long-run model across a very large amount of wagering. It does not mean a player gets 99 units back from every 100-unit session.
The total amount wagered matters more than the starting balance alone. A player who repeatedly recycles the same balance through 200 fast rolls exposes much more action to the house edge than someone who places one roll.
Auto betting does not change the probability. It changes the speed and total exposure. Stop-on-loss and round-count settings are useful only when they are configured before the sequence and respected after they trigger.
Why recording 50 rolls is not an RTP test
A short log can demonstrate volatility and help a reader understand the controls, but it cannot validate a 99% theoretical RTP. Fifty, one hundred or even several thousand independent outcomes can finish far above or below the long-run expectation.
This article therefore does not report a fabricated gameplay sample. The calculator uses exact arithmetic, so its sample size is not applicable. Real-money wagers placed for this review: zero.
If you record outcomes for personal learning, label the result as a short observation rather than evidence that the game is generous, “cold,” rigged or about to reverse.
Can a betting system beat Stake Dice?
Changing the stake after a win or loss does not change the probability of the next random result. Martingale-style doubling increases the wager after losses, which can produce rapid stake growth and collide with a finite bankroll or table limit.
The same problem affects reverse Martingale, fixed streak systems and target switching. A recent group of high rolls does not make a low roll due. A progression changes the distribution of session outcomes, not the underlying house edge.
For risk control, fixed small stakes and a predetermined round cap are easier to audit than an escalating progression. They do not turn the game positive; they limit how quickly exposure can grow.
How to verify a completed Dice result
Stake's provably fair system uses cryptographic inputs that can be checked after the relevant server seed is revealed. A verification tool should reproduce a completed roll from the disclosed server seed, client seed, nonce and documented conversion process.
Verification answers whether a past result matches the committed inputs. It does not forecast the next roll, remove the house edge or prove that a third-party replica uses Stake's system.
Use the verifier linked inside the official game or Stake's fairness documentation. Do not enter an account password, one-time code or wallet seed phrase into a purported external verifier.
A no-wager learning checklist
Before considering the real-money game, confirm that you can answer these questions without placing a bet:
- Which result range wins under Roll Over?

- Why does a smaller winning range require a larger fair multiplier?
- What total amount could Auto Bet place before it stops?

No. A 90% model chance still includes a 10% losing region, and repeated play creates repeated exposure to that risk.
